Obituary of Joseph R Pierce

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

~
Our Heavenly Father called Deacon Joseph R. Pierce (72) home to his eternal reward on Friday,  December 1, 2017. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Lynne Amori and her husband Steve; and one amazingly awesome grandson, Colin. He also leaves behind a sister, Ellen Miller and her husband Jack, a sister-in- law, Margie Pierce and loving nieces, nephews, great nephews and a great niece. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lynne, parents Budd and Ellen and brother, Robert.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1945, his aggressive negotiation tactics brought him into the world of Commercial Real Estate.  Becoming a resident of the Wildwoods in the 70s, he quickly became a well-known, successful Real Estate Agent.  He was honored to serve as the President of the New Jersey Real Estate Association, served as a steward of St. Ann Parish as a lecturer, eucharistic minister and enjoyed visiting the homebound to bring them the peace and comfort of our Lord.  Joe answered his religious calling and was ordained a Deacon at St. Ann Parish in 1997 where he continued to serve the community.  He was an integral part in many people’s lives through their weddings, baptisms and funerals.  Joe’s passion was helping those in need, whether it be through housing, clothing, food, money or counseling.  He was a great listener – and wonderful story teller to his grandson.  He loved living down at the beach, watching fireworks, traveling with his family, Mickey Mouse, ice cream, being a best friend to his grandson and bragging about his daughter and son-in-law’s accomplishments.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am, Thursday, December 7 at Notre Dame de la Mer Parish at St. Ann’s Church 2900 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ where friends may call from 9-10:45 in the church.  Internment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lower Township, NJ.  Donations in his memory to Notre Dame de la Mer Parish would be appreciated.
