Obituary of E. Jane Barnett

Jane Barnett. 94, of Wildwood Crest, passed away on January 31, 2018.  She was born Jane Keyworth in Irvington, NJ in 1923.  She enlisted in the Navy W.A.V.E.S. where she served as a Telegrapher Third Class, during World War II and was stationed at NAS Cape May.   After being discharged, she settled in Wildwood Crest and worked for the Union Bank and the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company.  She retired from the Wildwood Crest School District after 20 years as the School Business Administrator.  After her retirement she continued working as a volunteer with the County of Cape May Treasurer’s Office RSVP program and taught AARP Defensive Driving classes for a number of years.  Jane was a lifelong resident of Wildwood Crest along with her late husband Charles E. Barnett.  She is survived by her sons Allen (Susan), John (Nancy) and grandsons Matthew, Christopher and Andrew.  She will be missed by her loving family and many others whose lives she touched. Burial with military honors will be at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, in Cape May Court House.  Services will be private at the request of the family.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Ingersoll- Greenwood Funeral Home.
