A. James Versaggi, of Wildwood Crest, and life long resident of the Wildwoods, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 23, 2015. Jim was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Rose Versaggi, and survived by his three children, Donna Versaggi Gomez and son-in-law Gus Gomez, Judy Versaggi, Joseph Versaggi and daughter-in-law Amy Versaggi, his grandchildren Mae Kramer, Michael Kramer, Abby Versaggi, and Grace Versaggi, and by his great grandson Jude Sundberg. Jim was a graduate of Wildwood High School in 1948. After graduating, he worked with his family in opening the Serv-U-Rite Music Company on Pacific Avenue, and also worked at the Wildwood Bowling Lanes and Versaggi Brothers Construction Company. In 1951 he enlisted in the US Navy during the Korean War, and was assigned to the USS Hancock aircraft carrier. After his time in the Navy, Jim enjoyed a passion for aviation and military aircraft in particular. He never missed an opportunity to see the Blue Angels perform. Jim was a Regional Vice President of Conbow Corporation, until he and his wife purchased the Telstar Motel in North Wildwood. After the sale of the motel, he managed the Beach Terrace Motor Inn for many years. Jim was a volunteer at Cape Regional Medical Center, a member and volunteer at the Naval Air Station in Rio Grande, and a 60 year member of the American Legion Post 184, Wildwood, NJ. Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to be sent in his memory to The Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum, 500 Forrestal Road, Rio Grande, NJ 08242. Calling times 7 pm to 9 pm Monday, July 27, 2015 or 8:30 am to 9:30 am Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Tuesday at St. Ann's Church, 2900 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood, NJ. Entombment in St. Mary's Cemetery,Cold Spring, NJ
