Please share a memory of Josephine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Corino, Josephine ( Liberatore), age 84, of Wildwood Crest, NJ. Josephine, beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away at home with her loving family at her side on Tuesday November 24, 2015. She was born in Paterson, NJ but Wildwood Crest became her home in the early 1950's when she moved from North Jersey with her husband John. There she created a loving family home for over 60 years and provided for all the needs of her husband and daughters. She was a true stay at home mom and welcomed family and friends into her warm home and heart. She loved to cook for everyone and her Italian meals, sauce and meatballs are legendary! You never left hungry when at Josephine's! While raising her family, Josephine was very involved with community organizations. She was a member of the Jaycee's and the Wildwood Civic Club, volunteered at the then Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, and supported numerous charitable events in the County. Mom was most happy when she was with her family, especially her grandson John. She maintained a beautiful home and loved spending time in her back yard and enjoying the pool. Mom and Dad traveled quite a bit and loved to visit Florida often in the winters. But her favorite trip by far was the family trip to Italy visiting the beautiful Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and Rome where we all enjoyed the food, wine, Lemmoncello and sights of her home country. Mom was a devout Roman Catholic and attended mass at the Church of the Assumption up until the time her physical limitations prevented her from doing so. But she continued to say her Rosary every night and included her family, friends and whoever was in need of special prays as part of her daily ritual-she was a true prayer warrior. Josephine and John were blessed to have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 11 of this year. Josephine is survived by her husband John, her daughter Corinne and son-in-law Lee Robinson; her daughter Doreen Corino Holton and her partner Richard Arrivello; her grandson John Holton and his fiancée Rini Giouros, her sister Antoinette Major; her beloved niece Rosemarie Fruci, and her nephews Joey Major and John Kill. She was pre-deceased by her parents and 4 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, November30, at Notre Dame de la Mer Parish, The Church of the Assumption, 7100 Seaview Ave., Wildwood Crest, NJ. Friends may call from 9:00am to 10:45am in the Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lower Township, NJ. Donations in Josephine's memory may be made to Holy Redeemer Home Care and Hospice, 1801 N. Rt. 9, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 or Lazarus House ( Emergency Food Pantry), Notre Dame de la Mer Parish Office, 1500 Central Ave., Suite 100, North Wildwood, NJ 08260.
