Kathryn “Kay-Kay Elizabeth D’Amico
January 8, 1960 to August 3, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. At the age of 65, Kay passed on to be with the Lord. Kay taught us the true meaning of life and how pain is just a by-product of our achievements. How love soothed all problems. She brought warmth and laughter everywhere she went. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and her love that will forever guide us.
Kay, was born at Mercy Hospital in Sea Isle City, the first of five children to Kathleen and Donato D’Amico. She was raised in Wildwood Crest before moving to Cape May Court House and Erma, NJ. She attended school at Hembold Education Center in Corbin City, Ocean Academy and CMS Special Services School. She was involved with Cape May County ARC programs and resided in both Carol and Woodland Group Homes. She participated in the Easter Seals program as well as Active Day. She spent her last year at Fountain Springs Nursing Home.
Kay loved the holidays; carving pumpkins at Halloween, making trick or treat bags, opening gifts at Christmas and on her birthday. Also dying eggs at Easter and watching fireworks on the 4th of July. She loved parades both going to them and watching them on television on Thanksgiving and New Years. She was honored with being Grand Marshall in the North Wildwood mummers parade and even had her own mummers outfit. She loved going to the beach with a stop at Tommy’s Market but disliked the seagulls after they stole her lunch. She loved to travel and go to the casino. She would spend her down time watching I Love Lucy on the television while drawing. Like many, she was a fan of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney World.
Kay will be fondly remembered by her father, Donato “Dan” D’Amico, sisters Donna Keskes, Anne Lynn, Ginny (Ian) Forbes, and her brother Daniel ( Kimberly) D’Amico. Her nieces and nephews Ashley (Jeff) Boland, Jayme (Tyler) Diehl, Lindsey, Brendan Lynn. Anthony Piscitelli, Joseph Piscitelli, Nick Piscitelli, Michael and John (Rachel). Great nieces and nephews Peyton, Aria, Tyler, Cooper, Oliver and Jeffrey. She was predeceased by her mother Kathleen and nephew Tyler.
A celebration of Kay’s life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at St. Ann’s Church, 2900 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ with at Mass at 11 AM. Viewing from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Cape May, NJ.
