William Robinson Sr. was born on February 26, 1930 to Edgar and Beatrice Robinson in Wildwood New Jersey. William was the third child of six children. Four preceding him in death, Ottie Robinson, Etta Carpenter, Estelle (Dottie) Williamson and Betty Joan (Bobby) Durham. Bertha is still with us and at 97 years of age resides with her son Edward Harshaw (Chipper) here in Wildwood.

     Bill attended Wildwood Public Schools where he was a track and football standout. Following graduation in 1949, Bill entered the United States Air Force and served until 1955. While enjoying summer fun, he met the love of his life, Geneva Vincent.

     Geneva and Bill were married on June 4th 1955. They were blessed with three beautiful children William Robinson Jr. (Delia Pacheco) Anthony (Barbara) Robinson and Gwen (Barry) Moragne. He was lovingly known as Pop-Pop by seven grandchildren; William III, Brittany, Shayla, Morgan, Brianna, Arielle, Christopher. To his 5 great grands, he was known as GGPop.

    Bill became a full time member of the Wildwood Police Department on May 1st, 1959 as a patrolman and retired at the rank of Lieutenant December 1st, 1984. Bill had a stellar social service career when he became a Master Mason in a 32 degree mason a nights of Templar and a Master of the shrine (Potentate) and completed his service as a Grand Lodge Officer State and Jurisdiction of New Jersey. Once he retired from the Police Department he worked for the State as a bridge inspector for Cape May County and retired a 3rd time. Retiring 3 times was still not enough and he continued to run and operate the Robinson Motel with his loving wife.

    William passed away in the morning hours of August 31, 2025 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He now joins his wife to watch from the heavens over their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Condolences at ingersollgreenwoodfh.com
