Patrick DeRogatis, 75, of Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2025
He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry, his daughters Daina DeRogatis and Kristin DeRogatis-Vassallo (Matt), his mother Virginia DeRogatis, and his sister Letitia (Raymond) Tompkins. His legacy will continue in his three adored grandchildren: Matthew Patrick, Dominic Richard, and Karissa Ann. In addition to his immediate family, he also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember him fondly. Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Anthony "Sonny" DeRogatis and his brother, Anthony “Tony” DeRogatis.
Patrick was a proud graduate of Newark College of Engineering (NJIT) and received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He spent over 30 years working in the casino industry before retiring as an Assistant Vice President of Facilities at Caesars in Atlantic City. Upon his retirement, he spent time traveling and making countless memories with his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, with whom he met while she was cheering him on the football field. A few years later he stepped into his most important role as “Poppy” to his beloved grandchildren, with whom he loved spending countless hours doing homework (especially math), playing sports, and challenging them to grow into the best they could be.
A service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Assumption Roman Catholic Church (7100 Seaview Avenue, Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260). The viewing will begin at 10 am, with a service to follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Patrick's memory to the National Kidney Foundation or the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation.
