Denis Patrick Deeney Obituary

Denis P. Deeney, 68, of Wildwood, NJ passed away on November 3, 2025 at home peacefully.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Susanne Deeney who have since passed.  He grew up in Havertown, PA, graduated with honors from Monsignor Bonner High School and then onto Penn State University.  Penn State was thoroughly enjoyed by Denis.

Denis made his career with the U.S. Post Office as a mailman starting in PA and NJ and then moved to the Wildwood NJ Post Office and made some of his new best friends.  Denis was famous as everywhere he went in Wildwood, someone would say I know you – you are the nice guy that works at the post office.

Denis is preceded in death by the “one love of his life” and partner, Linda Moore.  Surviving Denis is Linda’s daughter, Jennifer Moore Sloan, Joe and their son, Jaxon, who all were a great joy in his life.

Denis is survived by his brothers, Joseph (Rhonda) Deeney, John (Bonnie) Deeney and his sisters, Marianne (John) Jones and Monica (John) Crossan.  Many loving nieces and nephew and great-nieces and nephews got to call Denis their uncle.  Along with the family, many cousins, friends and colleagues who were all a major part of his life will miss him dearly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Assumption R.C. Church located at 7100 Seaview Avenue in Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260.  Visitation between 10:00 am and 10:45 with Mass following immediately.   Private interment.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Denis’ name be made to Samaritan, a place of caring for loved ones at the end of life.  (samaritannj.org)
