Eliot F. Kaplan, MD, left this life very unexpectedly January 3, 2026. Born 5/11/54 in Philadelphia, Eliot was known for his kindness, generosity and wit. He attended Central High School  in Philly and later graduated from Jefferson Medical College where he also completed a residency in psychiatry. Eliot and family lived in Turnersville NJ for over 35 years, but he always loved the shore and was happy to retire in North Wildwood in 2014.

Eliot was the husband of 45 years to Roseann (Tirotta) Kaplan with whom he shared an extraordinarily loving, close and harmonious relationship. His wonderful family was everything to him. He was a devoted and proud father to Melanie Jacobs (Mike) and Jason Kaplan (Malissa) and beloved pop-pop to Gianna and Riley Jacobs. His family extended to in-laws Jerry and Mary Tirotta and family, cousins, and friends who were like family-Rick Dzubow, Jerry and Kathy Klinzing, Jeff Lieberman, Rich Dubin and so many others. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Sara Kaplan and parents-in-law, Pasquale and Frances Tirotta.

Eliot loved being with his family, his kitties, enjoyed gardening, nature, swimming, music and cars. He was grateful to be retired and living at the shore where every day he appreciated the beauty of the ocean and sky.
