Jay B Jans Obituary

Jay B Jans Obituary

Jay B. Jans 10/27/56 - 1/3/26.   Born in Abington, PA

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, James Jan and Mary Bergen Pierce, brother, Jeffrey Jans, stepfather, Samuel Pierce, beloved Great Dane, RA and step dogs Rudy, Mitzi, Rocco and Ginger.

Jay is survived by his wife, Susan, stepson, Christopher Scalia, step grandson, Archer Scalia and his fur children, Ronnie, Yoshi and Priscilla.

Jay was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, Class of 1975 where he became a true Patriot.  Jay went on to attend the University of Miami briefly before realizing his true calling, playing the guitar. Jay then spent time in LA (Sunset Strip) before returning to PA and playing with several local bands. In 1982, Jay formed the band Metalwolf with his forever friend and drummer, Brandt Stirzel.  He had many cherished bandmates over the next 40 years. During this time, Jay realized his love of teaching guitar.  He taught at Coyle’s Richboro Music for many years and then privately at his home in Sellersville, PA.  After relocating to Hammonton, NJ, Jay taught in Berlin, NJ.  He loved teaching and was always proud of the accomplishments of his students.

Jays love of cars, specifically his 370Z, who we fondly called the other wife, led him to his career as a Valet Supervisor, most current at Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.  He especially loved working with his boss, Carmen Russo.

Jay will be remembered for his talent, love of animals and being a genuine good guy.  He had a larger than life personality.  His charisma, charm, sense of humor, loyalty and million dollar smile touched everyone who knew him.

Jay will be missed by his beloved wife, Susan, for all of eternity.   A memorial for Jay will be planned in the upcoming months. Condolences at ingersollfh.com
