Mary Ellen Barth (née Burns), 88, of Wildwood Crest, formerly of Woodlynne, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026.
Born in Camden, New Jersey, Mary Ellen, lived a life centered on love, family, and quiet devotion to those around her. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Philip C. Barth, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage; a true testament to lifelong love and partnership.
Mary Ellen was a devoted mother to Philip (Cindi), Michael (Michelle), and Lynn, and a proud and loving Grammy to Megan, Erin, Katelyn, Tailor, and Troy, who brought her endless joy and pride. She is also survived by her loving sisters Jeannie, Fran and Cathy, and was predeceased by her siblings Jim and Betty. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and by those who were especially close to her, including Bobboo.
Mary Ellen dedicated many years as a teacher’s aide at Woodlynne Elementary School, where she touched the lives of countless children with her patience, warmth, and caring heart. Above all she was a very special Grammy; loving, steady and always there. She found simple joy in time with family, shared laughter, and her occasional Genesee beer.
The family would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caretaker, Maria, for the compassion, comfort, and kindness she gave Mary Ellen.
Mary Ellen will be remembered as a deeply caring, loving, and devoted woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so dearly.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
“Those we love never truly leave us, they live on in the hearts they touched.”
