Charles R. Gallagher

Charles R. Gallagher age 84 of North Wildwood passed away on May 20, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on June 12, 1941, in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia to John and Viola Gallagher. Charles grew up in a large loving family with a strong work ethic that defined the rest of his life.  Charles was a proud and dedicated Local 107 and 500 Teamster truck driver until he retired from Acme Markets with an impeccable safety record.  Charles was a proud Irish Catholic and devoted member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He cherished his faith and Irish Heritage, values he carried through his life with pride, kindness and a deep sense of community.

Charles cherished the simple joys in life - spending time with his family and friends, caring for his backyard, dancing the night away at the North Wildwood Elks Lodge and keeping up his Wednesday tradition of sharing beers and stories with his buddies at the Firehouse Tavern. He found happiness in laughter, friendship, and the moments spent with the people he loved most.

Above all he was a devoted family man.  He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty and love that will never be forgotten.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Anna; his children Annamarie (Steve) Wilson and John Gallagher; his adored grandchildren Sarah, Megan (Ryan), Jake (Taylor), Shawn, Alexis and Matthew; and great grandchildren Charleigh, Ava and Lilah.

Charlie is also survived by siblings Annie Francisco, Elsie Shaw, Nancy Bosak and Tommy Gallagher. He was predeceased by siblings Jackie, Bobby, Jimmy, Frankie, Billy, Joey and Helen.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Saint Anne’s Church, 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
