Born on October 27, 1960, Monica was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene and Anne Rucci. Originally from Northeast Philadelphia, Monica moved to North Wildwood as a child and spent the past 55 years building a life and community she deeply cherished.

Monica graduated from Wildwood High School in 1978. After years of caring for her family, she worked at Margaret Mace Elementary School. She had a deep love for North Wildwood, especially the beach and the quiet beauty of the off-season. Monica was known for her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerald Wayne Garriott, retired U.S. Coast Guard Chief; her sons, Jerald William Garriott and Christopher Garriott and his wife Gina; her cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Garriott and Brooks Garriott, with another grandchild to arrive in July.

She is also survived by her brothers, Mark Rucci and his wife Michelle, along with their children Lauren, Mark (Chiara), Matthew (Megan), and Micah; and Michael Rucci and his wife Mary, along with their children Melissa Rucci and Michaela Vacca and her husband Daniel. Monica also leaves behind many beloved family members and relatives in Maine along with many lifelong friends from the Coast Guard community.

Family and friends are invited to attend  a calling time From 10 am to 11 am with  funeral service at 11 am on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Monica’s memory to Love of Linda Cancer Fund or The Arc of Cape May County.
