Who was Jim Quinn? I met Jim over 50 years ago when he moved in next door and became my good neighbor on Westbridge Rd. From that time on, we became good friends! We did everything together!
When he needed washer repairs and a new linoleum floor, we both tackled it together. When we tarred our roofs together, Jim had a hard time climbing the ladder. I had to push him up the ladder because he was afraid of heights, but he did it!
As the years pass by, we used to sit on our front steps in front of Westbridge Road and.talk for hours every night. We talked about everything and always had good conversations. On a Sunday morning at Westridge Rd., Kate was all dressed up and came out the front door. Jim threw a bucket of water at her. She was mad at first, but she got over it. Jim was very apologetic. We were always good friends through everything.
Tragedy happened when Jim went to mass on Sunday and returned to find his first wife, Pat, had passed away as a result of a blood clot from her broken ankle. When Annie, who lived across the street, found out what had happened, she was there to help Jim and so were we.
We were in a bowling league at our Lady of Fatima for 23 years together and had a great time! Annie would show up every Sunday night to watch Jim bowl.
Later on, we moved to Drexel Hill. Jim bought his place in Wildwood and always used to invite us down on the weekends. While there, we used to go to breakfast and in the afternoon we would have a Cutty Sark scotch, which Jim always liked. We would play horseshoes and Jim always beat me. In our conversations, Jim always said that, when he retired, he would like to have a place in Florida and a place in Wildwood and spend six months in each place and he made it happen.
Jim never forgot my birthday and I never forgot his! In all our conversations together, Jim never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Who is Jim Quinn - my best friend! I’ll miss him!!

Jim was the greatest..visiting my husband whenever he was housebound. They’d sit there for a long time discussing past experiences. Frank loved seeing him come down the street and stopping for a chat.
