Obituary of Edward Clinton Brunell, Jr.

Edward Clinton Brunell Jr. age 62, born on August 1, 1961 in Sea Isle City, NJ to the late Edward & Eleanor (nee Biggins) Brunell.Ed passed away on March 18, 2024 after a long courageous battle that he fought til his last breath.

       Ed is survived by his wife of 39 years Diana (nee Gant) his daughter Katherine and son Christian. He is also survived by his sister Barbara (Steve) and brother Jeffrey (Sharon), his most loving Aunt Faye & Uncle Don, cousin Donald, Aunt Caryl, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins

     .Ed graduated from Deptford High School Class of 1980. Upon graduating, he moved to the Wildwoods where he spent every summer. He loved his time working on the boardwalk including driving the Tramcars.  Ed began his Law Enforcement career as a summer officer with the North Wildwood Police Department in 1982. He became a full time officer within the Cape May County Sheriff's Department in May of 1983. Where he dedicated 25 years of service, retiring in 2008 at the rank of Lieutenant. His Law Enforcement career was spent mostly in the K-9 unit. He became a supervising Police K-9 trainer through the Atlantic City Police K-9 Academy. He was a member of the United States Police Canine Association and the National Bloodhound Association. He was also a sworn U.S. Marshall.

      Ed’s second career was for fun. He became famous as DJ Eddie B, he absolutely loved his time DJing. The biggest part of this was his love for Jimmy Buffet. He was a huge parrothead. Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2572 where he was the Grand Knight for many years. He was also a former District Deputy, as well as a 4th Degree Knight. Ed was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7, a member of the Moose, the Elks and many other Fraternal organizations. He was very proud of his Irish Heritage.  He also loved coaching youth in baseball, basketball, and soccer in the Wildwoods and Lower Township

    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon Friday, March 22, at the Church of the Assumption, 7100 Seaview Ave., Wildwood Crest, NJ   A viewing will be held from 10 am to 11: 45 am before Mass.   Condolences at ingersollgreenwoodfh.com
