SHOR Harriet E. “Happy” (née James) Age 89, on January 9, 2017 of Aston. Born in Wildwood, NJ. to Jonathan J. James and Harriet Bonner James. Harriet was Wildwood High School's valedictorian (class of 1944). She spent summers working with her five siblings at their popular family owned Pacific Hotel. “Hap” graduated from Drexel University with a degree in business and fashion. She enjoyed a successful career as an executive buyer for Gimbel Brothers and later as a dress designer for various fashion houses. At Gimbels she found her soulmate and partner for life, Jack H. Shor (predeceased in death). An active community member, Harriet co-founded the Aston Township Recycling Program and The Free Library of Aston. She had a lifelong avid interest in politics (D). She is survived by her loving children Craig (Karen) Shor and Linda (Jerry) Vanartsdalen. Harriet is also survived by her dear grandchildren, Emily and Jonah Shor, Lauren, Camryn and Jamie Vanartsdalen and Nicole Vanartsdalen Durham. . At Harriet’s request, service and burial are private. Memorial contributions can be sent to Lower Moreland High School Mini-THON (committed to fighting pediatric cancer), 555 Red Lion Road Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
