● George H. Karavangelos, 54, of North Wildwood, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Born in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. George was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins. He loved football and was captain of his team for the Wildwood Warriors where he graduated in the class of 1981. George was the proud owner of King of Fiberglass, LLC, and Hot Spot Foods, LLC, where he proudly served his delicious sausage sandwiches, a Wildwood Boardwalk tradition for over 50 years at local festivals. He took pride in his work and credited his father for his strong work ethic. Being an active participant in his own recovery for many years, George was a friend of Bill W. and was always willing to share his experience, strength and hope and service to help others. Predeceased by his father, Harry G. Karavangelos, he is survived by his wife, the love of his life and best friend, Maureen (nee Van Horn) and her son Sean Joseph; a daughter Rowan Elizabeth, a son Samuel Jacob; his loving mother, Kathryn Rehill; his loving step-mother, Anastasia Karavangelos; his sisters: Kathy Thomas (Eddie); Via Zampiri (Sal); Helen Avgerenos (Don); Lisa Renee Pisasale (John); Haroula Rotondi (Joe); and many nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 2900 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will be held at Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery, Cold Springs, NJ.
