Obituary of Charles Bruce McCausland
Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charles BRUCE McCausland, 76, of Wildwood Crest, NJ passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a lifelong, bright presence in Wildwood Crest, NJ. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served at Ft. Benning, GA; a well respected concrete and masonry tradesman at Bruce McCausland & Son and later with E. Troiano & Sons; and was also a fifty-three year member of the Holly Beach Volunteer Fire Company, serving as former Captain and most recently, as Safety Officer. Above all, he was best known as a dedicated, loving and doting husband, father, brother, Unk, friend and certainly not least, Pop Pop.
He was a true collector of friends and admirers due to his ever-present smile, unwavering sensitivity, and willingness to offer a helping hand to anyone. He was envied as a master organizer of everything in and around his home and prized tool shed, and was well ahead of his time as a creative inventor of children’s toys, crafts and tools. Bruce was a skilled handyman and could find a solution to anything he could dream up.
His life is celebrated by his wife Jane (nee Livingston) of fifty-three years, their four children; Bruce and wife Gloria (Wildwood Crest, NJ); Kelly (Phillips) and husband Jerry (Wildwood, NJ); Bridget (MacDonald) and husband Jerry (Audubon, PA); Sean and wife Melissa (West Chester, PA); and the most beloved Pop Pop to grandchildren, Bruce III, Seamus, Brendan, Liz, Maille, Aydan, Liam, Eoin, Declan, Gavin, Maura, and great-granddaughter, Hannah. He is also survived by his siblings Joan Troiano, James McCausland, Richard McCausland, and Carol Stotz, all of Cape May County.
Funeral services for Bruce will be held Thursday, February 2nd at Notre Dame De La Mer Parish (St. Ann Church) located at 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260. Visitation begins at 9am-10:45am followed by Mass at 11am. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Kaitlin M. Anzelone Memorial Foundation at KMA Foundation, 127 W. Newark Avenue, Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260, tel: 609-522-3805. Condolences at ingersollgreenwoodfh.com
