Obituary of Joseph D Toland

TOLAND, JOSEPH D. 85 - of Wildwood Crest, passed away on Saturday June 13, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a proud 1947 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School. From 1951 to 1955, Joe served in the United States Army. He moved to the Wildwoods in 1955 with his beloved wife Florence. He retired from NJ Bell after working over 35 years. A loving, caring, and giving person Joe was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He took great pride in his nine grandchildren and could often be seen at their sporting events. He was a loyal parishioner of the Assumption Church. Joe is survived by his sons Bill (Cathy) and Tom; daughter-in-law Terri Toland; grandchildren Joe, Kate, Shane, Megan, Brittany, Bryan, Kelsi, Nicole, and Isabelle; brother James Toland and sister Mary McNally, both of Philadelphia. Joe was predeceased by his parents James and Mary Toland, sons Joseph Jr. and Michael, and the love of his life, wife Florence. A viewing will be held 9:00 AM Friday, June 19, 2015, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Notre Dame de la Mer Parish, Assumption Church, 7100 Seaview Avenue, Wildwood Crest, NJ. Internment will follow at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
