I knew Cecil for ten years and lived with him for the majority of that time. Beneath that gruff exterior was one of the kindest, most loving persons I've ever known. His comedic sense of timing combined with his dry sense of humor could have you laughing even on the worst day ever. He would go out of his way to just as easily help a stranger as he would a friend & often did. His knowledge of EVERYTHING never ceased to amaze me. He came into my life against huge odds-me from Northern NJ, and just having lost my husband. I moved to the Villas for a fresh start. Cecil, seeking a place to be closer to his job in Wildwood, moved from PA to the Villas. But God wasn't done yet-he placed us across the street from each other & I'm eternally grateful for having the opportunity to have known and loved this honorable, gentle man. He was my rock & I miss him every second of every day.

Cecil was the coolest guy ever. I've been asking all over for him for the past few years. My friend Sharon McNeal and I met him when he was working at the Shamrock and then when he was at the Harbor Inn. When he found out that Sharon had a fire at her home, he offered her a donation and made sure that others knew she was a proud person but needed assistance. What a nice man. You are missed.
