Obituary of Joseph E Rhile, Jr
~Joseph E. Rhile, Jr. 85, of North Wildwood, NJ passed away Thursday July
13, 2017. Born in Phila., PA he has been a local resident for the past 80
years. Mr. Rhile graduated from Wildwood High School with the Class of
1950 and joined the United States Marine Corps in September of that
year. After serving in the Korean War as a forward observer, Mr. Rhile was
honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal in 1953. Upon
returning to the island, he settled down in North Wildwood. He worked
full - time for Atlantic City Electric and nights at A&P Supermarket. He
became a volunteer in the Anglesea Fire Department and North Wildwood
Civil Defense , served as President of the Margaret Mace PTA and was
elected as Councilman for the 1 st ward of the City of North Wildwood.
He is survived by his sons Joseph E., III, and Jeffrey L. (Olga) Rhile; three
sisters, Dorothy Raniszewski, Gloria O’Shea and Frances Moore ; a
grandson , Derek Rhile ; a great - granddaughter , Addison Rhile - Miller ; his
nephew Andrew Raniszewski ; his very good friend Anne Fetsick; his
friends at A&LP and Model Cleaners; and nieces, nephews and many, many
acquaintances around town .
He is predeceased by his brother Donald Rhile ; his sister Stella Rossell; and
his granddaughter Tamara Rhile.
A viewing will be held Monday July 17, 2017 at Ingersoll - Greenwood Funeral Home. 1201 Central
Ave., North Wildwood, NJ 08260 where friends may call from 10 AM to
11AM . Internment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery ’s veterans’ section ,
780 Seashore Rd., Cold Spring, NJ 08204. In lieu of flowers, donations
can be made to Anglesea Volunteer Fire Department, 201 New Jersey
