Obituary of Kathryn E Vey

~~Kathryn (Kay) Donnelly Vey, of North Wildwood, 88 years young, passed away on Saturday, July 15th. She was born in Philadelphia, but has been a local resident for over 70 years. Our mom attended Little Flower High School, and at the age of 17, she moved to North Wildwood where she met the love of her life, our dad. They shared 55 years of happiness together until his passing in 2005. Together they raised five children. Our mom loved being a homemaker, a mother, and a grandmother. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Pete (Harold), she is survived by her children, Michael (MT), Mary, Theresa, Stacey, and Christopher. Our mom is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Christine, Michael (Robyn), Billy, Carin, Jillian, Matthew, and Quinn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Our mom was the last remaining member of the Donnelly family. Our mom loved her family, her friends, and her neighborhood. She was an avid puzzle user, a dedicated member of the Catholic Church, and a lifelong Democrat. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 20th, at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame de La Mer Church (St. Ann’s), 2900 Atlantic Ave, Wildwood, NJ. Friends may call from 9:30 till 10:45 at the church. Interment will be at Veterans Cemetery in Cape May Court House, NJ. Since our mother and our family love animals, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter in her honor.
