Dear Langston Family, I was so saddened today when I heard of the passing of a wonderful guy, and co-worker. I worked with Jack since the days of 'Norman' 1990 to be exact, and he was always , a gentle, caring person, who had the knack of putting even the most crazed employee at ease, and had a great sense of humor as well. He is missed, and I am proud and blessed to have known him.

Dear Langstons,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on Jack's passing. Jack and I grew up from ages 10 to 17 living next door to each other. We got into and out of a lot of trouble together and I'm sorry that we didn't see more of each other after I moved from RP in '59. I'll remember Jack as a man of many talents, art (certainly the best in our class), style (he always had an original look), music (not really, he pretty much faked the base guitar), and sport (a champion of disinterest). I met his wife once briefly at Len Detlor's funeral but clearly theirs was a match for life, which most of us couldn't accomplish. The last time I saw Jack he was clowning it up in a skit at our Class of '59 50th reunion. Mostly I remember that Jack was a gentle, good humored, imaginative, and decent person who seemed always willing to give rather than take. I will miss him very much.
My very best wishes and consolations to the family,
Jim Matthews
