Obituary of Joan Marie Shefski

Joan M. Shefski(Carr); 82, of South Philadelphia, PA who has resided in North Wildwood, NJ for the last 17 years passed away Thursday February 8, 2018. The daughter of the predeceased Edward Carr and Marion Carr(McGoldrick), and her big sister Marion Hennessey. Joan was a waitress at various places including the Bellevue. She most recently was a secretary for Senior Excursions for many years. She is predeceased by her late husband William Shefski whom she valiantly raised eight children and many grandchildren with. She was known as Mom and Gram to many. She is predeceased by her daughter Joanne Lynch(Walter). She is survived by her daughters Barbara Taylor(Gordon), Suzanne Mckeown, Dianne Harper, and Peggy Dimatteo(Steve), and her sons William Shefski(Catherine), Daniel Shefski, and Patrick Shefski. She is also survived by 18 admiring grandchildren; Joni, Michael, Katie, Matthew, Mark, Jason, Victoria, Misty, Brianna, Megan, Sean, Luke, Joey, Gabrielle, Andrew, Raymond, Ryan, Daniel, Annalyse, Alyssa, and Tyler. She has 13 great grand children; Rosie, Zachariah, Ezekiel, Alethea, Silas, Seth, Micah, Olivia, Ronan, Emma, Juliana, and Michael. She also will be missed by many cousins and friends that have become family throughout the years. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11am Tuesday Feb. 13, 2018 at St. Ann's Church, 2900 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood, NJ where friends may call from 10 am. Interment is private.
