Obituary of Marie E Furey

Marie “Sis” Furey (née Donovan), 87 of North Wildwood, passed away Sunday May 6 surrounded by her family. Marie was a ‘48 graduate of Hallahan HS. She married the love of her life, built a home in Philadelphia and had a career in social services at St Agnes Medical Center. She retired in North Wildwood and spent countless hours socializing with family and friends in the backyard. Sis was always ready for great conversation and a good time. Her spirit was joyful and she brought a smile to everyone she knew. Sis is survived by her loving husband George of 66 years; her sons George (Peggy) and Michael (Doreen); her daughter Marie; her granddaughters Dana (Jeff) and Jessica. Her grandson Kevin, who passed last year, will greet her in Heaven.

Services will take place Saturday, May 12. at St. Ann Church. 2901 Atlantic Ave, Wildwood, NJ. Final farewells will be held from 10a-12 Noon and Funeral Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to Lazarus House at P.O. 1792, Wildwood, NJ 08260 or to PA Lyme Disease Resource Network, 211 South Main St., North Wales, PA 19454.
