Obituary of Betty Fox
Betty Fox passed away at Crest Haven Nursing Home on May 15, 2018, a month before her 98th
birthday.
She was born in Philadelphia on June 15, 1920, and raised in Brooklyn, NY. On a trip to Wildwood, NJ, she
met and married Oliver T. Fox and spent her life living in Wildwood Crest. She spent many years helping
in their business, Oliver Fox Men’s Wear, and thereafter as an administrative assistant for large
organizations. She was an active member of Beth Judah Temple.
Mrs. Fox was instrumental in furthering the legacy of the Fox family and preserving and maintaining Fox
Park, which was the vision of her husband and his family.
Mrs Fox was predeceased by her husbands, Oliver Fox, Eugene Shapiro, and Daniel Balson.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Joy Fox Hirschmann (Allen) and 3 grandchildren, Robert (Ja-Ni),
David (Kirstie) and Rachel (Aaron), as well as four (4) great grandchildren, Eli, Aviya, Navah and Liora.
Funeral services will be on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at Beth Kehillah Cemetery, 6687 Black
Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township.
