Obituary of Elisabeth R Bohme

Elisabeth “Bette” Ruth Bohme, nee Ilg, 92, of North Wildwood, NJ, passed away peacefully in the early

morning hours of May 21, 2018. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on Jan. 26, 1926 to parents John and

Gertrude Ilg. Before moving permanently to North Wildwood in 1959 with her mother and daughter,

Karen, Bette worked for Ben Gimbel (Gimbel’s Department Store and WIP Radio) and Abbott Dairies.

Once settled in North Wildwood, Bette began a 29 year career with Union Trust Company in Wildwood,

and retired as Treasurer of the Bank. She also worked evenings over the years for Gordon Ball’s

Answering Service in Wildwood and for many years took care of the billing for Dr. JSD Eisenhower in

Wildwood. She was active for many, many years in the North Wildwood United Methodist Church, not

only as a member, but took care of their books, etc. She was a loving and devoted daughter, mother,

grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and close friends. She was

predeceased by her parents John in 1951 and Gertrude in 2007, her aunt Florence Davies in 1968, and

cousins Harry in 1973 & Floss Gray in 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Bohme of North

Wildwood; her granddaughter, Nicole Mattera (Derek) of Cape May Court House and Nicole’s children

Brian, Sterling and Ryleigh; and her grandson, Michael Mattera (Joanna) of Keystone Heights, FL and

Michael’s children Michael, Robert and Joseph. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 and the service will begin at 11:00  on Wednesday,

May 30th at the North Wildwood United Methodist Church, 2nd and Central Aves., North Wildwood, NJ. Burial will be at Cold Spring

Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made in memory of Bette to the Memorial Fund at the church. Arrangements by Ingersoll
