Mike was a WHS classmate & I remember him as the "gentle giant". Intimidating on the football field, he was a "good guy" with a warm personality off the field. When hearing of his passing that is immediately what came to mind & after hearing of how life challenged him over the years it is indisputable Mike was good to the bone...the "good guy" became an stellar man. For every challenge Life gave him God gave him a Blessing...each of his children is his legacy.
My sincere & heartfelt condolences to his family & friends...as Mike took care of you on earth, he now watches over you from heaven. You are never alone.
Rest in most deserved peace Mike. You are remembered kindly by many.

I am not sure where I want to begin. Michael was a friend of my husband, Lou, and I had heard his name mentioned many times over the years by Lou. I really did not know him until we decided to do some renovations at our home in Avalon.
Upon meeting Michael for the first time, I found him to be a very easy person to be around. He just radiated warm and care. As the time increased with me spending more time in his company, my respect and care grew for him. Michael was one of the few people who when asked, “How are you?” really wanted to know. What a gift! After Michael’s stroke Lou and I visited him several times. Again, Michael was still doing OK. When he was transferred to the nursing home Michael began the deteriorating effects of his stroke. Lou would continue to visit but I found I could not. Lou would come home and tell me how badly he was doing and cry.
I know this one thing. The world would be a better place if we had a few more Michael’s.
