Obituary of Mary A Nestor
Mary Nestor, 96, of Cape May Court House, died on Saturday, September 21st,2019 after a long battle with CLL, a chronic form of Leukemia. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa, the daughter of Carmello and Catherine Catanoso, both of whom were immigrants from southern Italy. The family moved t North Wildwood in 1928 where Carmello opened the first Italian American grocery in town. She married the love of her life, Pat Nestor, on July 4th, 1943.Mary was a member of Notre Dame de la Mer Parish in Wildwood for many years. She retired after working 43 years as a medical secretary for Dr. Irving Tenenbaum in Cape May. She was a also a member of the Wildwood Civic Club, Cold Springs Village and the Wildwood Historical Society. Mary and her now deceased husband Pat loved to travel and visit interesting places both out of the country and in the states. Her other hobbies were sewing and baking. She loved her family and was very close to all of them. Mary is survived by her son Patrick Nestor ( Linda) of South Carolina and a daughter Toni Callahan ( Bill) of Cape May Court House, with whom she lived for the past 11 years. She is also survived by a sister, Leona Betz of Wildwood Crest, sisters-in-law Marge Koester, Louise Catanoso and Carol Catanoso, six grandchildren, Wendy, Kim, Billy, Jackie, Rich and Jeff and nine great grandchildren who loved their "Gram" Along with her husband Pat, she is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Elizabeth and Bessie, and her brothers Tony, Leonard, Joseph, Charlie and Peter. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Friday Sept. 27th at St. Ann's Church, 2900 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood, NJ where friends may call from 10 to 10:45 at the church.
