HARRY, John W. - 90, of North Wildwood. On the beautiful morning of Sept. 14, 2015, God answered John's prayers and reunited him for eternity with his beloved wife Kay. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, John was a life-long North Wildwood resident. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, life member and past-president of Anglesea Volunteer Fire Co.#1 and a 63 year employee of Grace Oil Co., retiring at the age of 80!
John was a devoted and loving family man. A geniune "good guy", he was hard working, compassionate, humble, fun-loving and good natured. Someone you just enjoyed being around and who always left you smiling. John had an enviable quality of life despite the "wear & tear" of aging and was fortunate to live out his days in his home of 65 years; a blessing he was grateful for every day.
John was preceded in death by his parents, George & Margaret Harry, sister, Margaret Hennessey, and his wife of 65 years, Kathryn (2010).
John will be forever loved & missed by: his adoring children Christine, John (Debbie), Georgette (Randy) and Suzann (Don), his brother George Harry (Phyllis), grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors and by his cherished cats, Missy & Shadow, who brought him much happiness.
A celebration of John's life will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. Ann Church, 2901 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood. Visitation 9 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m.. John & his wife Kathryn will be laid to rest together that day at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
For those who wish, donations in John's memory may be made to: Anglesea Volunteer Fire Co. #1, The Wounded Warrior Project or your favorite local animal shelter.
