Paul & I wish to express our deepest condolences to Pat's Family. We came to know Pat as a result of all the wonderful times spent at the restaurant. We have so many cherished memories of our time spent with him. We have shared so many great conversations that covered subjects ranging from local knowledge & world history to food & wines. This picture is representative of one of those great evenings. Today is his birthday and though he is gone, he will never be forgotten. May he Rest In Peace.

Although it has been a very long time since Mr. Piro was my college counselor, he still holds a special place in my memories of LCMR. And my heart. My condolences to his family - he was truly a special person with a gift for working with young people.

Art and I are so sorry to learn of Pat’s passing too late to pay our respects in person. He has a special place in our hearts and memories of the most delicious, enjoyable dinners at his fine restaurant, but most of all of the time he always took to come over to greet us and chat for a bit. Our sympathies to all his family and staff; you lost a great man, a lovely person.

I am sad to hear of Pat passing..my mom rented above the restaurant Marie Kelly. I got a job in the restaurant and was their first waitress with Pat's sister Marie. I am Kathy Kelly. Pat and Marie were so fun and funny. Vwhen our shift was over we would make each other banana splits..I remember their dad Sam would play the jukebox these eyes. Pat made the best meatballs and sauce. You will be missed

Our Uncle Pat’s smile, laugh and life will sorely be missed. He always had the best advice and gave the greatest hugs. Hugs and squeezes you could really feel love through. Knowing he’s gone to join Elaine, and that we’ll share another hug brings comfort. Rest In Peace ♥️

I originally knew Mr. Piro from when I went to LCMR. I got to know him a little better when I rented from the DeRitis family, that was across the street from the restaurant in 2004. He was always so kind, always stopped to have a quick laugh and always gave me some type of compliment. He was a genuine man and a very hard worker. My condolences go out to his children and grandchildren.
Sincerely,
Jessica (Kurtz) Breuss

Pat was a great guidance counselor. He was kind, but also employed an honest, paternalistic style that society really no longer permits (much to the detriment of today’s kids). His passing is a loss to our community and the passing of his era of educators has been a loss to the public school system.

So sorry to the family for your loss. Pat was one of my long time friends at the beach. In the early 70's my family owned the Donut Corner across from the restaurant. When I was 6 yrs old he would take me over and had me help him make meatballs and broccoli and make me "sketties". Few years later we moved to the west block of Charleston ave. Just last summer I sat outside with him while he waited for his son to pick him up and we laughed about the good old days. Thank you Pat for the lifetime of friendship and enjoy the reunion with your lovely wife.
