Obituary of Lewis J Morey, Jr.

Lewis J. Morey Jr., 69, of Wildwood Crest, NJ passed away Monday July 27th, 2020. He was born in Cape May Court House NJ to Lewis and Ellen Morey. He was a lifelong resident of Wildwood Crest. Mr. Morey was an accomplished and well known builder who helped construct many hotels, motels, condos, amusement rides, and homes throughout the Wildwoods. He started out working for his father’s construction company and continued working construction throughout his life. He also owned and operated several businesses including restaurants and The Islander Family Fun Park. In addition to being an entrepreneur, he also spent time coaching youth baseball in his own unique way and was part of the infamous “murderers row” at Wildwood Catholic basketball games. He was a naturally talented athlete who excelled in baseball, golf, tennis and much more. His favorite hobbies included fishing, boating, and traveling to Key Largo, FL, where he vacationed yearly with his family and friends. He was a kind, caring, fun loving man with a huge heart who inspired many with his one of a kind sense of humor. He is predeceased by his father and mother Lewis and Ellen Morey, and brother in-law Greg Lacivita. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Fran, his two sons Lewis and Matthew, two sisters Carol (Tom) Sawyer and Debbie Lacivita, and his many nieces and nephews, all of whom he cared for deeply and loved very much.
