Ralph Marotta, 84 of Villas, NJ passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020. Born in Philadelphia PA., he was a local resident of North Wildwood for 30 years and then a resident of Villas for 15 years. Mr. Marotta was a retired Philadelphia, Pa police officer who served in various districts; he retired from the police force in the late '60s due to an injury he endured in the line of duty. A sport near to his heart was bowling since his father was a professional bowler. Mr. Marotta followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the PBA (Professional Bowling Association) and bowled alongside his father. He then went on to work for ABC Bowling in the '70s running bowling tournaments along the east coast and midwest. In the '80s he moved his career to the casinos in NJ and became a Blackjack and Roulette Dealer/Floor Person. After a 25-year career in the Casino Industry, he retired to enjoy his family and golfing.
Mr. Marotta was active in the Wildwood communities coaching hundreds of kids over the years with the North Wildwood Spitfire Football Team, Hunts Pier Baseball Team, and training sessions with the Wildwood High Girls Softball Team.
Survived by his children Beth-Ann Marotta Larson of Holland, PA, Thomas (Sherry) Marotta of Exton, PA., 3 Grandchildren, Ellison Marotta, Gianna Larson, and Olivia Larson. Preceded in death by his loving wife Constance T. Marotta, Sept. 21, 2005, mother Angelina Marotta June 22, 2005, and father Gaetano (Tommy) Marotta Nov., 5 1988.
Visitation will be held at INGERSOLL-GREENWOOD FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Central Ave. North Wildwood, NJ, On Monday, September 21, 2020, from 7 to 9 pm and again on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 9:30-10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Church, 2900 Atlantic Ave. Wildwood on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lower Township.
