I am very saddened to know that Maureen has died. My sympathy to Sheila, Gene and their family. I've know Maureen for 40+ years. I haven't seen her for five years but we've kept in touch with FB and holiday cards. Her first apartment was below mine and I spent many nights sitting at her kitchen table laughing at our Single Girl adventures. Maureen was especially proud of being an Aunt. Whenever I would see her, she would show me photos and tell me about each niece and nephew.
Maureen was full of life and fun. She was also sensitive and caring. I will never forget her kindness to my Mom. On Mother's day following the first anniversary of my Mom's death, I was living in Syracuse NY. Mom was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Philadelphia. Maureen called me and offered to leave flowers on Mom's grave. That gesture really touched me.
Maureen will always be remembered for her singing, dancing , humor and enthusiasm. Farewell, dear friend.
Love,
Chris O'Connor

Maureen was a light and my heart is filled with sadness that her light is extinguished. I did not know Maureen that long, only a couple of years. We "played" together in Spirit Players. But she was a delight- energetic, funny, talented, passionate and caring.
I am so sorry for your loss. She's a loss to us all. God bless and I pray for peace and comfort in your hearts.

Maureen was such an upbeat person and a real pleasure to be with. She was a wonderful friend to Jack's mother, Cass Kerr. She was attentive to our daughter Kathryn especially when she was little. After Cass died and Maureen relocated to N. Cape May, we would get together when we were down for our week's rental at the shore, and either have a group dinner at our rental house or in more recent years meet for wonderful Italian dinners at our favorite restaurant. We will miss her. Jack Kerr, Mary Kerr and Justin, Ian and Kathryn Kerr

I am so sorry to hear about Maureen's passing. I first met her when I started at the airport when she worked for Bill Malone. After a brief stint at the Water Department she returned as the first woman to work as an Airport Field Attendant in 1980. I was the kid of the team back then. It was a very male dominated industry back then. But Maureen shined through it all, routine boring hours, emergencies, snow storms etc. When I moved to SW Philly she lived nearby. In later years I was her supervisor. She was a great friend and co-worker. I was very happy when she retired to her beloved Jersey Shore.

From Eileen Casey
Maureen will forever be remembered for her radiant sunshine and warmth. What stage presence she had when performing with the Spirit Players - singing, dancing, as well as putting on hilarious comedy skits (anything for a laugh). She sang in the St. John Neumann church choir, was a member of the Cape May String Band where she entertained at various venues - strutting around to banjoes, while draped in fabulous glittering costumes entertaining in nursing homes, etc. She took great pleasure in bringing joy to others. She loved a party - and threw several of them herself. She will be severely missed by all who knew and loved her. We thank the, Lord. for putting Maureen into our lives.
