I worked the Wildwood Beach Patrol w/Butch and his brother Billy in the early to mid 70’s. Butch was always smiling or laughing and a genuinely upbeat and good natured guy. Sorry to hear of his passing. I will remember him in my prayers. My sincere condolences to his family.

Harris family,
Please accept my condolences on the loss of Butch. I cannot count the number of good times that included him. From high school to the beach patrol, to watching him coach. He helped a lot of kids in many ways. He will be missed.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Bro "Butch" Harris whom I became associated with while stationed in Cape May as avid bowlers and as Prince Hall Masons. I offer my sincere condolences to the family on the passing of this brother.

My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember Butch keeping us young rug rats in line at the Bowling Alley. A tough job but he succeeded. Thanks for the discipline Butch. Some of us didn’t get it at home. Part of molding me in who I am today. Rest In Peace now. Us locals never forget!

I remember being a young teen and traveling upon buses ! Me and my devilish twin! My cousin, Raymond must have smelled us coming home on the bus and looked deeply into the bus. Locking eyes as we knew we were caught! He was always there watching out for us. Even in 2019 I visited Wildwood and everywhere I walked I seen Butch which is what we lovingly called him. Always checking in on us and around the area I was walking! I was always felt safe in the area because I knew I could sense Butch was nearby! I will greatly miss him and treasured his presence. Cousin, Darlene Mai Roberts

He would take us to the woodbine State school, for breakfast they’d have. Also, poppop Butch would drive me through woodbine on our way to wildwood and point out a horse we would call the “purple horse” because when I was little I said “look poppop a purple horse” and he said “no that’s a blanket on it’s back!” After that everytime he would take the same way to show me the purple horse and huge Pigs in the woods. I’m honored to be his granddaughter. And he is protecting us now from above, our poppop Butch. -Yana
