Constance (Connie) Della (Wilson) Cooper, (a descendent of Mayflower passenger Peter Brown), of Wildwood, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Connie was born in Kenvir, Harlan County, Kentucky to the parents of Louis David Wilson and Harriet Josephine Douez on September 8, 1925. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, William (Curly) A. Cooper, her son, Louis David, her granddaughter, Kaitlin Melissa Anzelone, and 2 sisters and 5 brothers. In five days in 1944, she met and married the love of her life, William, and enjoyed traveling the world with him as the wife of a U. S. Coast Guardsman. Upon his retirement in 1962 from the USCG Station Cape May, they made Wildwood their permanent home, raising five children. A dedicated homemaker, she, also, worked diligently to support Veterans rights and charities for more than 50 years and served as an officer in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Wildwood. However her pride and joy was in her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who are her legacy. She is survived by her five children: Connie (Rick) Anzelone, Carolyn (John) McClure, William Jr.(Cecilia) Cooper, Edward (Bub)(Helene) Cooper and Candace (David) McShaffry, her 13 grandchildren: Jennifer(John) Elwell, Lauren Anzelone, Karyn (Brad) Sterling, Rebekah (Christopher) Gilmore, Carolyn McClure, William III (Lauren) Cooper, Brandon (Joanna)Cooper, Natalie (Matthew) Szczur, Joseph Cooper, Trevor Cooper, Brian McShaffry, Dr. Craig McShaffry and 9 great grandchildren: Hailey, Caden & Nicholas Elwell, Reagan & Kerrigan Sterling, Antoinette & Lucia Cooper, Quintin & Chloe Cooper and her granddoggies, Reilly Gizmo Anzelone, Cosmo & Sabrina Cooper, Sam McShaffry and Bear Elwell. Internment was private on December 4, 2015 at Cold Spring Cemetery. In remembrance of Connie, donations may be made to the Kaitlin M. Anzelone Memorial Foundation, 127 W.
