Obituary of James J Walsh

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James J. Walsh III - 77, known fondly as “Jamie”, passed peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, August 4th amongst family and loved ones. A Philadelphia native, Jamie affectionately called Wildwood home for over 25 years. He was known throughout the area for his love of music, entertainment, and being a self-proclaimed “fun-seeker.”After graduating from North Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Jamie served proudly and honorably in the United States Marine Corps, spurring a patriotic spirit and a love of country. Jamie would spend the rest of his life devoted to music, gracing stages all across the country and overseas, entertaining countless people with the likes of legendary musicians and entertainers like George Young, Freddie Bell, and Milt Trenier. He went on to organize and produce talent for political campaigns, festivals, and his storied, local jam sessions. When Jamie wasn’t on the stage, he gave his time to a number of charitable organizations from the Shriners, Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Lodge. Faithfully devout, and deeply spiritual, Jamie's soul returns home, reunited with friends and family. Jamie was predeceased by his father James J. Walsh II, and mother Dorothy (Goehl). He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, daughter Gina Lehotsky (John), his sons James (Jenna), Ryan (Parinda), Michael (Sarah), and Grandchildren Amber, Nicholas and Alexis.Visitation will take place on Friday, August 12, 2022 at St. Ann Church, Notre Dame De La Mer Parish, between 10-11:00 AM, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM..  A memorial reception will take place at a later date TBA. Jamie’s memory will forever be kept safely and fondly in the hearts of those who loved him.

“Pray, hope, and don’t worry.” - St. Padre Pio
