THOMAS MCCAREY OBITUARY - Thomas A McCarey, 91, "Reds" of Philadelphia Pennsylvania passed away quietly on September 16, 2022, in Woodstock Georgia surrounded my loved ones. Tom and Annamae (deceased) were married for over 50 years and raised 5 children Thomas, Late John (Kathy), Patricia (Bill), Michael and Anne (Brian). Born in Philadelphia to John and Mary he had 7 siblings and is survived by his sister Anne. Tom joined the Army in 1951 as a Combat Engineer in the Korean War. He then joined the Philadelphia Police Department in 1956, was a proud member of the FOP Lodge #5 where he served as President in 1976 and retired in 1979. Tom will be missed and re-membered by all who have had the pleasure to meet him and call him family, neighbor or friend. Throughout his life he enjoyed time with his brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the family reunions that brought everyone togetherIn addition to his siblings and children, he is survived by his Grandchildren: Mary Anne, Patrick, Ariana, Sean, Isabella, Brendan, Conor, Sean, and great-grandchild BraydenAlso survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Survivors of Cancer PO Box 266, Wildwood, NJ 08260.
Mass of Christian Burial will he celebrated 11am Friday Oct. 14th at St. Ann's Church, 2901 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood, NJ where friends may call from 10 to 10:45am. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Middle Township, NJ.
