Obituary of Mary Ellen F. Metzler

Mary Ellen Frances Metzler passed away suddenly the morning of Monday, November 21, 2022 at the age of 56. She is survived by her loving husband Stephen, her son Matthew, her daughter Shannon, her parents John and Mary Ann Tiers (Thornborrow), her brother John, brother Bob (Kathleen), sister Kathleen (John), sister-in-law Susan (Rob), father in-law Leo, niece Allison and nephews Andrew, Jason and Kevin.  She is preceded in death by her mother-in-law Margaret.

Formerly a resident of Northeast Philadelphia then Erial, NJ, she was a current resident of North Wildwood, NJ. She spent the majority of her working time in the legal field, and most recently worked in the Middle Township School District while also part-timing as a DJ at the Firehouse Tavern.

She was a loving mother who was incredibly proud of her children and never missed an opportunity to let them know that. Though both children have moved away, their mothers love and support was always close. She will always be with her husband Stephen knowing when he cracks a stupid joke or when he is backing his car into the driveway. 

Mary Ellen loved walking with friends and family on the seawall in North Wildwood. She had an infectious personality and lit up any room she walked into. She was a proud Philadelphia sports fan and loved watching the Eagles on Sundays at local spots with friends. 

Mary Ellen will be deeply missed but will always be with us.  She is now singing and dancing with the angels.  May she rest in peace.
