My family got to know Mrs. Chism when our grandson, Christopher Cox, started kindergarten in Sept. 2012. I went into the classroom as a helper as often as I could. I loved seeing the children with Michelle. They all loved her and she loved them! After school, she had lots of visits from former students.
Our sympathy goes out to the family. You were blessed to have had her with you. She was truly gifted. She will be tremendously missed by all who were touched by her.

I remember so clearly the first time that I went to visit Michelle's classroom for a classroom observation. I left her classroom thanking God for Michelle! She managed a hundred moving things with energy, smiles and a fitting little song that every student knew! Her style was loved by children and she had a way of reaching each of them.
As a parent of a shy Kindergartner, I quickly realized that Michelle had an amazing gift of putting kids at ease and she was able to encourage a love of learning. For that, I will be forever grateful.
I will miss her beautiful smile but she will not be forgotten!

So very sorry to hear about Michelle. I taught in the room next to her classroom in Haddonfield. I also had many of her kindergarten students in first grade, so I often heard from children and parents about how much they loved having Michelle for a teacher. I remember the students would often burst into song while I was teaching. Michelle had songs and chants for everything she taught. The children talked about the happy-grams they took home and the rewards they received in kindergarten. Kindergarten with Michelle was fun and memorable. I also remember Michelle running down the hallway at school. She was happy, high-energy, squeezed all she could into a day at Central School. Her life was short but she touched many children and families. She will not be forgotten.

Dear John and Family,
Our deepest condolences to you and the family during this time.
Michelle was my daughter's first grade teacher in Glen Ridge about 15 years ago. I will never forget the impact she made on that entire grade and I personally adored working with her throughout the year.
I have thought of her often, and always through the years, and will always remember what she brought to our lives.
All the best to your family during this difficult time. You're in our thoughts and prayers.
