My sincere condolences to Rocco and the rest of Joy's family. I had the pleasure of working with Joy one summer up at Winterwood on the boardwalk. I have to say she was a character. I laughed so much when we work together. Time just flew on by. The one thing that stood out the most was her love of family...her daughters, her sons-in-law and her wonderful grandchildren. Rest in peace, Joy. It was definitely a pleasure meeting you.

My heartfelt condolences to Joy's husband and family. I used to work parking enforcement for the city of Wildwood and as I passed her house I was always greeted with a big smile and an invitation to have a rest. She always offered me a cold water or soda to refresh myself. Her outgoing personality was a welcome sight for a parking enforcement officer. Needless to say, I was always happy to see her and her husband enjoying a beautiful Wildwood evening relaxing on their porch together.
Thank you for being such a nice person and sharing some of your stories with me.

I first meet Joy as a young kid looking for a place to stay for Senior week. We rented the bottom apartment which became known as the CAVE. Little did I know how my life would change! I meet my Family, A husband, wife and 3 little girls. Which quickly became my Brother, Sister and Nieces. Here I am 46 years later with a broken heart because I lost a Sister, and one of the best friends I have ever had. Joy I never seen you back down or run from anyone, and true to form you stood up tall and proud and looked Cancer straight in the eye and said “You have NO idea who your up against” And she fought this horrible disease till the very end. Joy never admitted defeat, if I know Joy at the very end she went out giving Cancer the (Finger). Words can’t say how much I love Joy. I miss her already and will forever. Rest in Peace Joy, You inspired us all. ❤️ you.

Q: What was Joy like as a child?
A: Joy was my cousin and when we young our families spent a great deal of time together, many Sunday and holiday dinner including the Christmas that my mother's oven decided to only heat to 100 degrees and we ate dinner at 10:00 PM at night.
Joy spent three and a half years in Japan with her family. All the dinners and holidays resumed as soon as they returned.
I remember going to a train station and picking up Aunt Jean, Joy, Donna and Lenny, with no clothes or processions except what they had on their back. They had been stationed in Panama and there was an uprising in the country and their housekeeper helped them to escape the country.
One afternoon, after school, Joy called and told me that she had dyed her hair. Nothing new about that but the next thing she said was "it turned green." She wanted to know what to do before her father killed her! I think she shampooed until he got home!
We often spent summer time in Wildwood Crest with our Aunt and Uncle. One night we were fooling around and we gpt into Uncle Jay's underwear draw and decided we each would get into one leg and dance our way down the stairway. Neither of us could sing well, but we sang and danced our way down the staircase and Aunt Eve wet her pants and Uncle Jay rolled with laughter.
Joy got her drivers license and got a job in the automotive department in Two Guys. She lasted long enough to buy a big GTO. On a Sunday afternoon we decided to go to the mall in Moorestown. Her mother was with us hiding in the backseat. Well, unknown to us we had to go around one of New Jersey's traffic circles! Aunt Jean got on the floor and I think was praying to every god or deity she could think of, there was a lot of mumbling going on. Joy got on the circle and on the inside lane....well she had a very difficult time getting off of the circle. No one would let her to the outside lane so she could turn off. We never went to that mall again!!
Joy had a great laugh and we were raised to believe family was very important. She was so happy in her new home she really but up a wonderful fight against cancer. I am so glad her made those months with her family. Her family should know how much she loved them.
I have tried to plan to attend the service. However, living in New Mexico and our own old age will not allow me to make it. Please know I am sending you all hugs and love, especially you Renee, I could not have a more wonderful Godchild. I love you, Aunt Sue
I do have a few pictures of your mother as a young child, through pregnancy with Andrea. If you would like them I will forward them to you but please send emails. Uncle Don deleted our contact list. Growing old is difficult!!!!
