WILLIAMS, REGINA
Regina Williams (Jeanne) of North wildwood, NJ died peacefully May 18, 2023, after a short illness. She was born in Philadelphia on January 24, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Catherine Moritz. She was married to William Lewis, Jr. in 1948 and widowed in 1964. In 1969 she married James Williams. For many years they divided their time between their home in North Wildwood and winter home in Islamorada, Florida. They traveled extensively throughout North America in a motorhome and enjoyed trips to Europe. Jim died in 2003.
Jeanne graduated from Bishop Hallahan High School in 1943. She worked as an office clerk with the Veterans Administration and the Aviation Supply office in Philadelphia. But she found her calling as a businesswoman owning and managing rental properties in the Wildwoods.
Jeanne’s strong Catholic faith is well known. As a devoted parishioner of Notre Dame de la Mer Catholic Church, she participated in and contributed to many church-related organizations and was part of the parish leadership team for many years. She was a dedicated supporter of Wildwood Catholic High School and the Sisters of St. Joseph.
A great animal lover and pet owner, she served on the Board of the Cape May County Animal Welfare Society. She was a long-time member of the Red Hat Society.
Jeanne is survived by several cousins and also by nieces and nephews through marriage.
The funeral will be at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ on Wednesday, May 31. Viewing 10 a.m. Mass 11 a.m. The burial will be in the Moritz family plot at Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA on Thursday, June 1, 11:30 a.m.
