Whenever I think of Joe, I hear his voice. His many voices. He is genuinely one of my favorite people in the world.
Joe and I first met while working at Grand Illusions in Philly. It was great fun - especially because of Joe. After I left there, I encouraged him to take up electrical work. But we gradually lost touch.
I tried searching him many times over the years, and am devastated to have finally found him only after he can no longer make me laugh. To be fair, the fucker never tried to look me up! Or maybe he did. Anyway, I will still tell stories about him - stories my have known since they could crawl - because his friendship shaped my life.
Damn Joe! I wish I could have reconnected with you - even a phone call.
Joey (or however you may now be known), I remember you too, and hope you are well - and your mom.
