James J. Di Falco Obituary

James “Bubby” DiFalco Sr, 68, of Wildwood, passed away at home on April 22, 2024. He was born in South Philadelphia on August 24, 1955 to Joseph and Carmella DiFalco, where he attended King of Peace Elementary School and Bishop Neumann High School. After graduation, Jim moved down to the shore to start his family. Jim dedicated over 25 years of service to the City of Wildwood Police Department, retiring in 2015 as a communications officer. After his retirement, he spent his summers strolling the boardwalk as the city’s boardwalk inspector. Jim, also known as Capt. Jim, was a passionate member of the Philadelphia Mummers Association. His dreams came true when he was accepted as a member of the South Philadelphia Sting Band. There was no greater joy for Capt. Jim than marching down Broad Street with his banjo in hand, next to his fellow mummers. When Jim wasn’t working or mumming, he would be found in his second home, Walt Disney World. He loved nothing more than strutting down Main Street U.S.A. with his family.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Carmella DiFalco, his Aunt Anna Spirito, and his beloved brother Joseph “Joebo” DiFalco. He is survived by his wife, Theresa DiFalco (Schultz), his sons, James Jr. (Katie) and Joseph, as well as his daughters, Michelle (Christopher), and Jamie. He also leaves behind his devoted sister in law, Sandy DiFalco, whom he had a special bond with. He will be missed dearly by his precious grandchildren, Nathan, Olivia, Juliana, Noah James, and Stella Brie.
