Obituary of Marilyn B. Goldstein

Please share a memory of Marilyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marilyn Brooks Goldstein, a cherished member of the Wildwood Crest community, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Oscar and Rose (Weiser) Brooks, Marilyn's life was one of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She is survived by her children Mike (Kelly) and Becca (Phil), brother (Hugo), niece (Cameron) and her granddaughters Madison, Brooke, and Olivia. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, David J. Goldstein, who passed away in early 2023.

Marilyn's journey began in her beloved hometown of Vineland, NJ on a chicken farm. As a child, Marilyn’s family moved to Wildwood Crest when they purchased the Astronaut Motel. A proud graduate of Wildwood High School Class of 1972, Marilyn cherished her roots and maintained close connections with her classmates throughout her life. She continued her education at Rider University, where she pursued a degree in Education, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Returning home after her studies, Marilyn played an integral role in operating the family business, the Attaché Motel.

Marilyn touched the lives of many in countless ways. As a motel owner, teacher, devoted daughter, nurturing mother, and cherished "Momma G" to her children's friends, Marilyn's generosity and warmth knew no bounds. She was known for her open door, ready to offer a listening ear and host unforgettable gatherings for loved ones.

In her later years, despite facing physical challenges, Marilyn loved her role as a Bubbie. Her granddaughters were the lights of her life, and she showered them with endless love and affection. They will forever hold her memory close, remembering her as a beacon of kindness and warmth.

Marilyn Brooks Goldstein will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, generosity, and compassion will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. In honoring Marilyn's memory, may we strive to embody the same spirit of kindness and joy that she so beautifully exemplified.

Services will be held at Beth Judah Temple in Wildwood, NJ on Friday, May 3rd. The family will greet family and friends at 10am with a service starting around 11a.
