       Wilma Roth Zimmerman (1936 – 2024)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilma Roth Zimmerman, 87, who passed peacefully in her bed on June 11th, 2024.

Born on September 7th, 1936, in Philadelphia, Wilma lived a full and vibrant life. She was the loving wife of Charles Zimmerman, who predeceased her by thirteen years. The two met in their teenage years as both families had neighboring vacation homes in North Wildwood, NJ. They were married in 1955, and together they raised a family of four children.

Wilma was primarily a homemaker, but spent time working for many years as an administrator at a private school in Bucks County, PA.

In her retirement, she split her time between Florida and New Jersey. In her free time, Wilma enjoyed reading, knitting, and listening to classical music. Josh Groban just to name one of her favorite singers. She was an avid fan of Downton Abbey, and loved to watch old movies. She also loved watching the Phillies! Everyone who knew Wilma knew how much she loved flowers and gardening. She spent lots of time tending to her garden here in North Wildwood in the warm summer months.

Wilma was a woman of great faith, who attended and donated her time to St. Ann’s for many years. She was a kind and generous soul who always put others before herself. Her family and friends will remember her for her warm smile, her gentle nature, and her unwavering love.

Wilma is survived by her sister Maria;  her children and their partners: Gregory, Jeanette & Theodore, Robert & Margaret, Cheryl & Edward; her grandchildren: Brittany & Andrew, Eddie, Blake, and Emma; her great-granddogs Juno & Goldie; and additional family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on July 15th at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame de la Mer Parish (St. Ann Roman Catholic Church) in Wildwood, NJ. Visitation starts at 10:00 AM. Flowers can be arranged to be sent to St. Ann’s and would be greatly appreciated.

We couldn’t have asked for a better matriarch of our family, and we will miss Wilma every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.  Please leave a condolence at ingersollgreenwoodfh.com
