Peter J. Walsh Obituary

Peter John Walsh, of Wildwood, NJ passed away Friday August 2, 2024. Born in Wildwood, NJ and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he has been a Cape May County resident for the past 16 years. Pete was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School for boys (Class of ’61), a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired Corporal from the Philadelphia Police Department. He was also employed at the United States Mint in Philadelphia, PA.


Pete was a beloved family member and friend to so many. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor and love of family. Originally raised in the Swampoodle section of Philadelphia he eventually moved to Juniata Park where he started his own family with the love of his life – Betty. After living in Delaware County for many years he and Betty retired to Wildwood, NJ in 2008.


He was pre-deceased by his wife; Elizabeth Walsh (nee Myers) and brothers Bernard Walsh & Michael Walsh.


He is survived by his sons, Peter & Elaine Walsh (nee D’Ambrosio), Matthew Walsh, Daniel & Donna Walsh (nee Mogck); grandchildren, Patrick, Owen, Ava, Molly & Jack Walsh; and his sisters, Margaret Smith & Rosemary Smith.


Services will be held on Thursday August 8, 2024 at St. Ann Church 2901 Atlantic Ave. Wildwood. Visitation from 10:00am - 10:45am


Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am. Interment is private.
