Obituary of Michael J. Fay, Sr.
Michael J Fay Sr. of North Wildwood, NJ passed away Sunday August 18,2024. Mike was born in Philadelphia, PA but was raised in Sea Isle City, NJ from a young age. Mike was a graduate of Wildwood Catholic High School,Villanova University and Seton Hall University.
Mike served his country with honor during the Vietnam War as a member ofthe United States Navy. His commitment to helping others continued longafter his military service, as he devoted over 25 years of his life working forthe state of New Jersey as a Manager of the Division of VocationalRehabilitation. Mike was instrumental in developing programs that provided opportunities for the less fortunate, helping them find and maintain meaningful employment. His work made a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals, and his legacy will continue through the programs he helped to create.
Mike was a man of deep love and devotion to his family. He was pre-deceased by his father and mother, Daniel & Pauline Fay and his father and mother-in-law Dominick and Mary Cartolano. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary, who was his steadfast partner in life. He was the proud father of two – Michael (Jennifer) and Natalie Tweed (Robert), who were the light of his life. Mike’s love extended even further to his nine beautiful grandchildren Kelan, Irelyn, Tenley, Maylin, Maddyn, Yardley, Ellie, Michael & Maggie. His grandchildren brought him immense joy and he cherished them above all else. He is also survived by his brother Daniel Fay, III and countless sisters and brothers in law and numerous nephews and nieces.
Services will be held on Monday August 26, 2024 at St. Ann Church - 2901Atlantic Ave. Wildwood.Visitation 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment after the mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cold Spring.
