Obituary of James Mooney
James was called home on September 22nd, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on July 6th 1929 to Charles and Margaret Mooney. He lived in Philadelphia where he worked at The American Stores. He was drafted into the U.S Army where he served in the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, Jim returned to Philadelphia where he met the love of his life, Mary Ellen. Soon after they were married, began a family and made the Wildwoods their home. He continued to work for The American Stores/Acme where he retired after 50 years. Jim was known for his love of the Eagles, Phillies, Mummers, and HOT food. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Ellen, his daughter Patricia, granddaughter Tammy Murray, son in law David Cettei, three brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his daughters Kathleen Cettei, Rosie (Bob) Murray, Maureen (Joe) Rogowski, his 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren with one due in December, and brother Thom (Steve).
A Calling Time will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Ingersoll Greenwood Funeral Home located at 1201 Centeral Ave, North Wildwood from 9-10am with service beginning at 10am. Burial will follow immediately after at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ.
