Obituary of William M Horgan
William M. Horgan "Bill" of Erma, NJ. passed away October 19, 2018 and went to his new home with the Lord. He leaves behind his loving wife, Gail ( nee Pastre ) , stepchildren, Shannon Senger ( Mike), Cheyenne Fortunato ( James), Heidi Kern ( Milton ) his younger brother, John Horgan ( Joan) and younger sister, Mary.Dean (Jerry) Bill also leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, inlaws and wonderful friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary Horgan, two sisters, Ann Couch and Josephine Adams, brother, Thomas Horgan, and stepson , John Alfano.
Bill was born and raised in the Garrett Hill section of Rosemont, Pa. He came to Cape May in 1968 to paint a boat for someone, after working as a Union Painter in the Philadelphia area. He arrived with a paint brush, ladder and a small pickup truck. He never left and went on to own and operate a very successful business; " William Horgan Painting " for well over 40 years. He employed many people over the years. He retired in 2015 and dealt with many health issues.
Bill is a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 3546 Erma, NJ., Lower Township Moose Lodge 1054, Erma, NJ. for 46 years and former Governor . He was also a member of the Elks of Greater Wildwood, NJ # 1896 for 29 years, member of the Wildwood Golf Club for 24 years.
His passion in life was golfing, his business, football, Philadelphia Eagles, Family, and watching TV. He was the "King of the remote". He will be sadly and lovingly missed by all.
Bill received excellent care from the Holy Redeemer Home Care Nurses, aides and medical supplers.
Service 11 am Wednesday , October 24, 2018, at the Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home, 1201 Central Ave., N. Wildwood, NJ. Viewing from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Burial in St Mary's Cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ
